Canon’s finest DSLR for the beginners with great specifications

The Canon EOS 80D is one of the most powerful DSLR which could be purchased under just a $1,000. It is an excellent DSLR boasting 24 effective megapixels and 26 megapixels in terms of sensor photodetectors. The sensor is an APS-C CMOS and is powered by Canon’s very own DIGIC 6 image processor. It has 45 focus points providing rapid focus and has 1.6x of focal length multiplier. The ISO range varies between 100 to 16000 and is expandable to 25600.

A continuous drive rate of 7 frames per second seems low but considering the extremely detailed result of each and every shot, it is quite reasonable at this price range. The D80 shoots video in Full-HD 1080p resolution at 60p, 30p and 24p. It doesn’t shoot videos in a 4K resolution which is kind of a bummer at this price. The measurements and weight of this DSLR are very moderate at 5.47 x 4.13 x 3.1 inches and 730 grams respectively. The optical viewfinder of the D80 has a magnification of 0.95x and provides a scene coverage of 100%.

On the other hand, the monitor of this excellent DSLR is 3 inches wide and contains 1,040,000 dots on it providing a brilliant outlook of the pictures and videos.  It is a fully articulated and touch-enabled LCD.  There is Wi-Fi and NFC for easier and faster connectivity but there’s no Bluetooth. The LP-E6N lithium-ion battery performs way beyond expectations and gives a timing of 960 shots per single charge.

ProsCons
Greater megapixel count and focus pointsBulkier design
Brilliant batteryNo 4K

Great DSLR with ultimate handling and enhanced features

Next up in the list is Nikon with their beast of a DSLR, the D7200. It features 24 effective megapixels and 25 megapixels of sensor photodetectors. The LCD is fairly large at 3.2 inches with 1,228,800 dots. It is fixed and is not touch-enabled either. It has NFC and Wi-Fi but the Bluetooth is missing. The EN-EL15 lithium-ion battery is brilliant as it allows you to take 1,110 shots after a single full charge.

The measurements of the X-T20 are very compact at 4.65 x 3.27 x 1.6 inches and the weight is also very light as it weighs just 350 grams. One of the major drawbacks of the X-T20 is that it has an electronic viewfinder instead of an optical one. The electronic viewfinder has a magnification of 0.62x and a scene coverage of 100%. The LCD, on the other hand, is 3 inches wide with a tilting functionality. It has 1,040,000 dots on it and is touch-enabled as well. It has Wi-Fi but no NFC and Bluetooth. The NP-W126s lithium-ion battery only allows you to take 350 shots after a single full charge.

To understand the true extent of digital photography, one must get their hands on these mid-range DSLRs like the ones described above. Canon’s EOS 80D, Canon EOS Rebel T7i and the Nikon D7200 and the have specifications similar to a pro-DSLR. The Sony Alpha A6300 and Fujifilm X-T20 are built to focus in almost no time.
